"For i know the plans.........

..........I have for you," declares the Lord "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future" That is the scripture that has been carrying me through the past few weeks. I have had some pressing times but also some really encouraging times, but through it all the Lord has confirmed his will for me and has promised to be by my side. The Journey has started!!! My heart is being melted by the love of God here in Swaziland and i'm experiencing so many different emotions. The Lord has committed to changing me and thats exactly what he's doing out here. Anyway let me share what's happening at Hawane farm.

It has been a stressful time for some of the older children here as they sit their exams. Some of them are really advanced while others seem to have fallen behind, mostly because they haven't had the opportunity to have a proper education until now. While the older children are feeling the pressure the younger ones are relaxing as they look forward to their holidays that start next week. This is good news for me as i will be able to spend more time with them.

Last weekend we had a soccer tournament at Hawane CLC. This was a great day for all who entered and also alot of fun for the children from the community. There was 10 pots of soup made and 140 loaves of bread. The children flocked as we gave it out and came back for seconds and thirds at the least. The winners of the tournament walked away with....wait for it....a GOAT!!! They were holding it up ever so proudly while they got their photograph taken, the goat was not amused! A funny and bizarre moment.

There are teams of servants coming in and out of hawane all of the time. We have a small team of Americans coming on friday and there is a large team coming from Ireland next week some time. Its always busy round the farm and our schedules always change. I'm spending alot more time at the pre school which i love. I'm trying to learn all their names but there are so many i'm struggling!! They make my day so much brighter!!!

I have a ladies conference at the weekend which i am really excited about. I hope to be touched by Gods refreshing power to strenghten me during this time and to help me to help others in need in Swaziland. I'll go now and will keep you posted on any latest news. Thank you all for your prayers and support xxxx

First Update

Sanibonani, i pray you are all well. A month has already gone and i can hardly beleive it. Time has flown by. I have settled really well at Hawane Farm and everyone has made me feel so welcome. It is winter here at the moment and the frost has been nipping at my toes. It's made me think of home a little and of all the special people in my life that i won't see for a while but the Lord comforts me with his love in times like that. The frost soon melts around 8am as the sun gets hotter but i still need my layers on sometimes as the winds are a little nippy through the day. Anyway, let me fill you in on what i've been up to.

My schedule is pretty tight with lots of different activities. I'm doing a bit of everything really. On Monday all the volunteers join the TCMI students for devotions and often share what the lord has put on our hearts that morning. It's a very special time!! :) Then i go to pre-school to help out there. There are about 30 children there so as you can imagine it's a really busy time. The children are very lively and soooooo cute. Story time is the best as the answers they give are so innocently funny and so imaginative. I also teach a young man English for a few hours on mondays and wednesdays. He is a student at TCMI and is a joy to work with!

On Tuesdays i go to the community with a team of volunteers and nurses and pray for the sick. The sights are sometimes so horrendous i find it hard to just be there but the Lord is making me stronger with every visit. I usually spend alot of time with the local children and try my best to keep them ammused with baloons or whatever we have with us. Last week there was the cutest tiniest baby. I found it very hard to let go. I will show you all in a picture next time i blog!!! We have our cell group at night. It is a very challenging time as the lord does his work in me......we are doing the study by John Bevere 'The bait of Satan. Maybe now you understand why i used the word challenging!!!! Saying that i do love our time of fellowship. Changing is always a hard process but i know the Lord is helping me. He wants me to be the best version of me for his work.

Wednesdays is filled with more practical work through the day then at night i'll be visiting the childrens homes to help them with their homework. I will be starting this next wk. Thursday is a great day with the kids. We all meet in the library and commit that time to the lord in prayer. When i ask the children what song they want to sing....it's always the same one with the actions in toe. It goes...'We are marching in the light of God, we are marching in the light of God,... then they sing 'We are Jumping in the light of God'.......It's VERY NOISY as you can imagine. I help with the Safari club after that and it really fills my heart with joy. We always get the children involved by asking lots of open questions about Jesus. One day i asked 'why do you think jesus tells us to pray all the time?' and Fezile answered 'because if you don't pray you belong to the devil'!!! I really had to hold my laugh in because he said it with such conviction.

Fridays are so rewarding!!! I help out in home school from 8am til 1pm. There are about 5 children that attend. This is mainly for the children that are too sick to go to school. We cover alot of subjects like Maths, Science, English, Sport and home economics. In Home Economics i have been baking with them in two groups as we only have one cooker to use. We have made peanut butter cookies and chocolate crispies so far but we are going that extra mile on friday with the attempt of a chocolate cake!!! Mmmm! I also teach IT to some TCMI Students and teach the girls cell group at night. We have just finished the Teen Challenge study 'Attitudes'!! Ouch! It has been so long ago since i done that study that i had forgot how challenging it is, not just for the students but also for the facilitators!!

Well i hope you get more of a picture of how things are out here because i really want you to feel involved in this mission as my sisters and brothers in christ. Please pray for this ministry and all the provisions needed for it to continue the great work and to keep the children smiling!!! :)

Hey everyone, I pray you are all well when you read this!!! So sorry for the long delay! Well i arrived in Swaziland a little tired but safely. As soon as i arrived i felt very much at home as Swaziland is a country very close to my heart. The excitement of this journey and anticipation of what was to come filled my mind all the way from Ammanford to Swaziland. Amongst all these emotions, the peace of God was overwhelming.
